Independent & Community Living – Cina Akidąwe

Supporting wellness and independence for every stage of life.

Cina Akidąwe offers services to help youth and elders thrive—at home, in community, and in the future.

🧓 Elder Independence Services

“Caring for our elders, so they can remain at home.”

Services Include:

  • In-home assistance (e.g., personal care, light housekeeping)

  • Home safety modifications

  • Transportation to appointments and cultural gatherings

  • Meal delivery (e.g., Meals on Wheels)

🧒 Youth Aging Out of Care

“You don’t age out of our care.”

Who This Is For:
Youth (ages 14–21) currently or formerly in foster care

Support Services:

  • Housing and transportation assistance

  • Guidance on college or vocational training

  • Help obtaining identification, employment, and life skills

💡 Life Skills & Empowerment (Coming Soon)

“Tools for strong, independent living.”

Planned Offerings:

  • Parenting support groups

  • Job readiness & resume help

  • Financial literacy & budgeting workshops

  • Digital skills and tech access programs

History
In 1854, the Kansas-Nebraska Act created our territories, drawing a line across the Iowa Reservation, which made us the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska.
