What Does the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska Community Need? Participate in the 2021 Needs Assessment!!
The Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska, in collaboration with its organizations (Iowa Tribe Housing Authority, Native American Family Services, and United Tribes), has contracted Heroda Bikax^e Consulting LLC to conduct a Community Needs Assessment. The purpose of the Community Needs Assessment is to plan, prioritize, and budget for the delivery of services and programs for the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska enrolled tribal members, both within and outside of the service area in areas such as Social Services, Housing, Tribal Justice, Community Engagement, Youth, Infrastructure, Employment, Education, Transportation, and Economic Development. Community input will help the Tribe in the development and improvement of programs and resources that provide tribal members with the tools and opportunities for self-sufficiency and resiliancy.
Ways to Participate:
1. Take the Comprehensive Needs Assessment Survey!!
The survey aims to capture comprehensive, anonymous, data from all adult tribal members, ages 18 and older, to serve as the basis for the Tribe’s goals, programs, and services.
2. Participate in the Needs Assessment Conversations! The ITKSNE and Heroda Bikax^e Consulting will host focus groups and town hall meetings (in-person and or virtually) to talk in-depth about tribal issues that impact the community, as well as providing a platform to outline the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis of the Tribe.
3. Homeowner Survey – The Iowa Tribe Housing Authority will survey all tribally enrolled homeowners, within and outside the service area, to determine homeownership needs from those affected by COVID-19 for the Department of Treasury’s Homeownership Assistance Fund.
Your input is important to us! Please be on the look out for invitations to these events and surveys over the next few months.
