Family Support Services – Cina Akidąwe

Helping families grow strong—together.

Cina Akidąwe offers family support rooted in cultural understanding, community connection, and practical care.

👣 Foster Care

“Providing care when home isn’t safe.”

When a child cannot safely remain in their home, foster care provides a temporary, nurturing environment. Our goal is always family reunification when possible.

What We Do:

  • Identify and support tribal foster homes

  • Ensure placements follow the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA)

  • Work toward permanency through reunification, guardianship, or adoption

🧬 Indian Child Welfare (ICWA)

“Protecting culture, preserving families.”

The Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 protects the rights of Native children and families. Cina Akidąwe ensures all child welfare cases comply with ICWA so that Ioway children remain connected to their families, culture, and tribal identity.

We work closely with courts, foster homes, and biological families to honor this sacred responsibility.
