The Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska in White Cloud, Kansas, is currently accepting applications for a full-time Social Services Director. Requirements and responsibilities include:

  • Must have an MSW
  • Must be a self-starter and energetic
  • Proven leadership & management skills
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills

The Director will be responsible for assisting the Tribe with implementing an indigenous-based full reorganization of the social service programs, planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the various branches of the Social Services Department and performs other duties as required.


Th ideal candidate will be a strong, seasoned social services professional who brings the ability to work collaboratively with the senior management team, staff, and community. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are paramount. Those with a background in organizational development, finance, contracts, policies, reporting and staff development can best assist the program with the internal communications and operations of the department. Applicants should have the capacity to build organizational savvy and work through barriers with multiple stakeholders; and, have a proven track record of implementing solutions to balance competing priorities while maintaining stability, as well as, fostering a spirit of collaboration and teamwork. Confidentiality is a must!
