ITKN Citizens to Receive In-State Tuition at Kansas Public Colleges

Beginning July 1, 2025, enrolled citizens of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska will be eligible for in-state tuition at any Kansas public college, university, or technical school, regardless of where they currently live.

This exciting new policy, enacted by the 2025 Kansas Legislature and the Kansas Board of Regents, is intended to support Indigenous students with historic and ongoing ties to Kansas.

Who’s Eligible?

  • Enrolled members of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska
  • Students enrolling in any Kansas public institution of higher education
  • Residency outside of Kansas is not a disqualifier

This tuition benefit does not include changes to financial aid programs available to Kansas residents.
